Connect Shopify and import seller products

Connect a Shopify store, stage its products, select variants, run the import, monitor status, and resolve mapping or inventory issues.

The short answer: Connect the Shopify channel from Seller Plugins, load products into the staging list, select the products or variants you want, start the import, and use Import Status to confirm which marketplace listing and inventory record each item created.

Connection

Authorize the correct Shopify store

Open Seller Plugins and choose the Shopify import connection. Enter or confirm the intended store and complete the Shopify-hosted authorization with an account allowed to read catalog and inventory data.

Use the EzBuyCo app authorization flow to connect Shopify. The store domain and token are saved automatically after authorization; manual credentials are a support fallback. Webhooks keep product, inventory, and order updates current while reducing repeated API requests. Shopify-hosted image URLs are preserved in staged imports where possible.

Do not connect a test or former store by mistake. The imported product identity and later refreshes depend on the connected shop and Shopify product or variant IDs.

Prepare

Load and review staged products before importing

  1. 1

    Refresh Shopify products

Fetch the current catalog into the staging view.

  2. 2

    Search and inspect

Review title, variants, SKU, price, quantity, images, and existing import state.

  3. 3

    Select deliberately

Choose only the products or variants ready for an EzBuyCo listing.

  4. 4

    Start import

Submit the selected rows and leave the status workflow to finish before repeating them.

After import

Verify marketplace mapping and listing quality

Import Status shows whether the operation is queued, processing, completed, or failed and can link to the created marketplace listing. Open every completed listing to verify category, description, options, condition, fulfillment, tax, images, price, SKU, and stock.

Shopify data does not replace required EzBuyCo seller settings. Check the marketplace shipping profile, item condition, inherited seller policies, and listing content before activation. EzBuyCo manages tax categories and site-wide URL rewrites.

Troubleshooting

Resolve stale, duplicate, or failed imports

  • Refresh staging when Shopify data changed after the last fetch.
  • Use the existing mapping/status record instead of importing the same variant repeatedly.
  • Confirm SKUs, variant identities, images, and inventory values exist in Shopify.
  • Reconnect if authorization was revoked or the connected shop changed ownership.
  • Open the failed status detail and correct its specific validation before retrying.
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does Shopify import publish every product automatically?

No. Products are staged and selected, and imported listings still need marketplace-specific review and any required settings.

Why does an import show queued?

The import runs through a status workflow. Refresh Import Status before submitting the same product again.

Can I edit an imported product on EzBuyCo?

Yes, but review how later refreshes and mappings affect shared fields. Marketplace-specific shipping, tax, return, and SEO settings remain important.
