How to offer cashback promotions in your shop

Set a store-wide cashback offer, understand who funds it, and end a promotion without changing existing orders.

The short answer: Set a store-wide cashback offer, understand who funds it, and end a promotion without changing existing orders.

Set your customer cashback rate

Set your customer cashback rate

  1. 1

    Open the form

In the seller dashboard, choose Shop → Manage Shop → General. Find Customer cashback (%) above Return window (days).

  2. 2

    Choose the total

Enter the total percentage the customer should receive, using up to two decimal places. Third-party stores start at 1%; the official EzBuyCo store starts at 3%. The maximum is 100%.

  3. 3

    Save

Save the shop form. The offer applies across your store to eligible new purchases. Product pages and checkout estimates use the current rate.

Understand the cost before saving

Understand the cost before saving

For a third-party store, a 4% offer on $100 of eligible spending gives the buyer $4 in wallet credit. EzBuyCo funds $1 from its existing commission. Your seller wallet is charged the remaining $3 when cashback is awarded. This is 4% total, not an extra 4% on top of the standard rate.

Commission and payment fees still apply separately. Vendor cashback charges can reduce the seller wallet below zero, including when a payment provider has already paid the sale proceeds directly. Review seller fees and your available margin before raising the rate.

The official EzBuyCo store funds its own promotion in full. At 5%, a $100 eligible purchase earns $5 in wallet credit, without a separate third-party vendor debit.

What spending qualifies

What spending qualifies

Cashback is based on eligible product spending after applicable discounts. Taxes, shipping, and wallet-funded spending do not earn cashback. Quantities already refunded before the award are excluded. Amounts are rounded to cents.

Cashback is awarded when the eligible order item is completed. It is wallet credit, rather than an automatic payment to the customer’s bank. If the cashback is reversed for a cancelled or returned item, its original vendor-funded contribution is refunded too.

Change or end the promotion

Change or end the promotion

  1. 1

    Restore the baseline

Set Customer cashback (%) back to 1% for a third-party shop or 3% for the official EzBuyCo shop, then save.

  2. 2

    Keep existing promises

An order keeps the rate saved when it was created. Changing the shop rate affects new orders and does not reprice cashback on existing ones.

  3. 3

    Check the ledger

Review seller wallet activity for cashback charges and refunds. The cashback entries are separate from commission entries.
