The short answer: EzBuyCo is a multi-vendor marketplace: buyers use one account to discover products, place orders, track deliveries, and manage post-purchase requests, while independent sellers use a dedicated backend to run shops, inventory, orders, shipping, promotions, reporting, and payouts.
One marketplace with specialized storefronts
EzBuyCo brings multiple independent shops into one shopping experience. A buyer can browse the New marketplace, find pre-owned items in Used, or order from local restaurants in Food without learning a different account system for every seller.
Each product or menu item still belongs to a specific seller. The seller controls its listing, availability, price, fulfillment settings, and shop information. EzBuyCo provides the shared discovery, cart, checkout, account, messaging, order, and support infrastructure around those shops.
A compatible checkout can contain items from several shops, creating multiple seller order lines, shipment dates, tracking numbers, or pickup instructions. Restaurant delivery and parcel-shipped retail products must be checked out separately. The order-tracking guide explains how buyers follow each part separately.
- New: marketplace listings for new products and catalog-based inventory.
- Used: condition-aware listings for pre-owned products.
- Food: restaurant menus, pickup, delivery, Square POS connections, and eligible same-day delivery workflows.
What happens on the buyer side
Buyers search or browse, compare products and shops, choose options and quantities, then move through the cart and checkout. Checkout collects fulfillment choices, delivery or pickup information, payment, and the final order review.
After checkout, the buyer dashboard becomes the control center. It stores order history, downloads, cancellation and return requests, messages, addresses, favorites, saved searches, offers, credits, and profile settings. Buyers do not need to contact each shop just to find basic order information.

What happens in the seller backend
Approved sellers receive a seller dashboard separate from the public storefront. That backend is where a merchant configures the shop, adds or joins catalog products, sets inventory and fulfillment rules, receives orders, updates statuses, handles requests, runs promotions, reads reports, and manages earnings.
The backend is role-aware, so team members can be given access to the work they need without exposing every merchant setting. Available tools can vary by seller type, marketplace configuration, connected plugins, and account privileges.
Start with the seller setup walkthrough, then use the seller dashboard tour as a map of the daily operating areas.
Payments, seller fees, and earnings
At checkout, the customer pays with an enabled payment method. The payment provider authorizes or collects the payment, EzBuyCo records the order and its payment state, and the seller fulfills the paid order according to its shipping or pickup workflow.
EzBuyCo charges sellers a 5% marketplace commission plus a separately labeled transaction fee of 2.9% on each seller invoice. Both are calculated from the recorded commissionable amount and deducted from seller proceeds; buyers do not see either charge added to their order total.
Refunds, taxes, shipping, promotions, and payment-provider adjustments can change the final settlement. Sellers should use the order statement and credit ledger—not a simple headline calculation—as the definitive record. See seller fees and transaction fees for examples and the payout guide for moving eligible earnings.
How an order moves through the platform
| Stage | Buyer experience | Seller responsibility |
|---|---|---|
| Before checkout | Reviews listing, seller, price, fulfillment, and policies. | Keeps product, inventory, price, and shop details accurate. |
| Payment | Selects an enabled method and confirms the total. | Waits for the recorded payment state before fulfillment. |
| Processing | Sees the order in My Orders. | Picks, packs, confirms inventory, and prepares fulfillment. |
| Shipment or pickup | Receives tracking, live delivery, or pickup instructions. | Adds shipment details or marks the order ready for pickup. |
| After delivery | Can review eligible purchases or open an allowed request. | Responds to messages, cancellation, return, or refund workflows. |
