The short answer: Pickup requires an active pickup-capable location. Manage addresses under Warehouses & pickup locations and match them to the shop fulfillment setting. Shipping-only locations remain available internally for fulfillment; sellers that do not offer pickup keep their public shop address and location hidden.
Decide whether customers can collect orders
Shipping origin data and a customer pickup location serve different purposes. Keep the internal origin accurate so staff and eligible shipping services can fulfill orders. Enable pickup only at a staffed location that can receive customers and hand over the selected order.
Choosing shipping only for a private warehouse does not create a pickup point. Likewise, hiding a public address does not erase the internal address used for inventory, shipping, or other authorized operations.
Create a pickup location before enabling pickup
-
1
Open Warehouses & pickup locations
Use the seller Shop navigation or the Warehouses button on Scanner.
-
2
Add or edit the intended location
Enter an accurate name and address and select a mode that supports pickup. Complete the required availability, contact, and collection details shown by the form.
-
3
Activate the location
Verify that the location is saved and active for this seller.
-
4
Enable pickup in shop settings
Choose pickup or the available combined fulfillment mode. Saving pickup without an active pickup location is rejected.
-
5
Review the buyer path
Check the listed pickup information and order collection instructions before offering the option to customers.
Allow time before the first pickup slot
In Manage Shop → General, Gap Between Order Placement & First Pickup Slot [Hours] sets the minimum gap before the first available pickup slot. Choose a gap that gives staff enough time to prepare an order, then save the form.
Keep a shipping-only location internal
When pickup is not offered, the public storefront, product listing address/location displays, and location maps should not expose the seller location. Retain accurate warehouse addresses for internal fulfillment.
If you disable pickup, review any existing orders that already promised collection before changing staffing or closing the location. Changing a shop setting does not by itself cancel or reroute an existing customer order.
Check the location if pickup cannot be saved
- Make sure the location belongs to the current seller.
- Confirm it is active and its mode supports pickup.
- Complete all required address and availability fields.
- If a location used for pickup cannot be removed, update the shop fulfillment choice and resolve open pickups first.
Frequently asked questions
Can a seller ship while hiding a warehouse address publicly?
Yes. Shipping-only sellers retain internal origin information while the public shop address/location is hidden. Pickup requires a customer-facing pickup location.
